BIOGRAPHY OF RACHEL KEATS - RUBEL , L. C.S.W.
Rachel Keats-Rubel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and a Graduate of Boston University, having earned two Masters?? Degrees, from the Schools of Social Work and Education. She is trained in psychoanalytic , psychodynamic, psychotherapy. Her post graduate education includes training with Dr. Norman Zinberg and Dr. Martha Stark , both professors at Harvard Medical School.
Rachel has thirty-five years of extensive experience as a psychotherapist, consultant, teacher, group and workshop leader. She is a faculty member at the Academy of Continuing Education at the Ross Jewish Community Center teaching a Relationship Enrichment Course.
Her work includes extensive experience with individuals, couples, and families with a broad spectrum of psychological problems including anxiety, depression, low-self esteem, alcoholism, eating disorders, divorce, aging, and grief work.
At present, Rachel is best known and respected for her work as a couples and marital therapist. Her therapeutic modality integrates the concepts of Imago Therapy and the skills from the Pairs Program. She is a Level Five Certified Pairs Instructor and has taught this curriculum on both College campuses and Jewish Community Centers.
Her experience is that most people enter relationships with a lack of knowledge and skills, especially communication and conflict resolution. When the initial ???Good Will?? changes to the inevitable ???Battle of Wills?? new skills are needed. Rachel??s goal is to help her patients achieve emotional and relationship maturity, knowledge, and practical application of effective skills to guide them through the various challenges of each relationship stage.
Rachel helps couples at all relationship stages ranging from pre-marital, newlyweds, long-term couples, and those on the brink of divorce. She also help couples separate amicibly , working with them on post- divorce parenting issues.
Rachel??s therapeutic style is warm, compassionate, non-judgmental, and interactive. She is an educator and coach, as well as a therapist. Drawing upon a variety of styles and theories, she custom- tailors a treatment plan that is unique for each individual. Rachel helps patients weave together their past and present so they can have a better understanding of their present behaviors and long-term patterns .
